Ballot Image Test Data: Lehigh Class Surveys

Obtaining access to hand-marked ballots created by voters for use in real elections appears to be problematic due to various legal constraints. As part of our work on the PERFECT project, we are conducting various data collection activities that will give us access to similar sorts of markings created in less restrictive contexts. We plan to make these data freely available as a service to the research community.

The survey forms below were produced by students enrolled in Dan Lopresti's Spring 2008 Lehigh course "Intelligent Machine: The Computer in Popular Culture." All forms were filled out by hand
and were scanned at a resolution of 300 dpi using a Ricoh Aficio digital photocopier. As of now, they are presented without ground-truth (i.e., human interpretation of the markings), but we intend to add this information soon.
